Family Packs are complimentary sample packs of varying household products delivered together with a full colour magazine (Australian Family) to families with young children via childcare services across Australia. Delivery of Family Packs occurs in bulk to participating schemes for distribution to carers and then on to the families of the children in care. There are two distributions a year.
How Does it Work for Family Day Care?
FDCA's role in the Family Pack promotions is to provide information to the family day care community, invite participation, co-ordinate and support participating schemes, compile a database, liaise with Family Pack Services and confirm distribution.
Each Family Pack received by the family day care community generates a small royalty payment to FDCA. There is no cost or payment to family day care schemes associated with participation.
How Can Your Scheme Get Involved?
FDCA, together with Family Pack Services invites schemes in writing to participate in each Family Pack Promotion. Generally the promotions occur two times a year – in April and October.
On agreeing to participate in the promotion, schemes receive one delivery of Family Packs to the co-ordination unit office equal to the number of participating:

Individual carers (one pack for each carer) |

Families utilising the family day care scheme (one pack for each family) |
Schemes distribute those packs to staff and carers, and carers then distribute a pack to each of the families using their service. There is no obligation to participate and schemes can choose to be involved with one or both promotions each year.
